Did you know that shockingly every year children are bullied because of their uniform? This is because when a bully sees a child in a uniform they immediately suspect that they have rich parents that spoil them. Then they then assume this, therefore, means that they have a posh expensive phone. This leads to mugging and then bullying. When I was doing my research I found a site that was telling me that some children were being asked to wear black hoodies over their uniform because this was happening. This is not acceptable. Why can"t children wear their own clothes to school? Abolishing uniform would prevent this from even happening. Teachers are always telling us to stand out from the crowd and be confident. But how can this happen when we are all wearing the same. Wearing what you want is an important part of life. If you had to go through life wearing a uniform all the time everyone would be the same. How could black Americans still be used in the slave trade but some people weren"t afraid to stand out from the crowd. Everybody has their own style but how can we show that if we have to wear the same uniform every day. Wearing what you want not only promotes self-confidence but also drives forward academic success. When you are wearing school uniform you are compared to other schools that may have a different colour of style uniform. Also when we play sports fixtures some children are teased because their uniform isn"t the right colour or style. In the end, this results in a lack of confidence.

There is no good evidence that links school uniform to improved results. A few schools in the USA reported better test scores after they started having uniform, but most of these made other changes to the running of the school which could have helped instead. Studies looking at lots of schools, with and without uniform, have not found any link between what children wear and school results.

It should be encouraged only if it is conducive to learning and acquiring the meaningful education needed to break out of the poverty trap. Blaming the poverty cycle on kids failing to attend school ignores the fact that schools are failing children. Public schools are often overcrowded, with poor facilities and lacking the resources necessary to teach children with challenging backgrounds. Schools in developing countries often lack qualified teachers, and can suffer from very high staff absenteeism rates2. A more effective school system would result in fewer kids dropping out, not the other way around. Additionally, involved parents are integral to effective education3. Simply blackmailing them with money to do the right thing will not work. In fact, you might actually experience backlash from parents and kids, who'll see school as a burdensome requirement that is met just so you can keep the electricity on. To respond to the comments made by kels as the rebuttal to my argument. I will admit wrong in that you are correct that probably most rich white kids are not the only makeup of these schools, nor should it be ignored that there is much more diversity than I acknowledged or knew of. That you for this clarification. However, it can be said that most legislation for vouchers will without a doubt favor rich white kids over the poor working class that are already attempting to stay afloat. It is in my opinion that at least within the U.S. schools should garner public funding without exception, even if those persons for some reason do not appreciate public school. No one is prohibiting them from private prayers or lack of worship, and an excess of god in education is abhorrently unnecessary. The government finds an educated populous to be valuable, and will give everyone the opportunity to be educated. If persons so choose to spend on education that does the same job elsewhere for more money, then that is their business. For highly destitute families that insist on private education, then perhaps some type of voucher would be in order. Voucher legislation as I have seen favors the rich without a doubt.

I must point out my opponent's accusations of this statement to be lame. He is directly insulting me for speaking logic and debating. By they, I am going to assume you mean teachers since you directly have comments about homework. Most teachers give homework because they do not have enough class time to teach you the information. If you have a longer school day, however, some teachers would probably have their homework reduced to a minimum. For an example, you have a math class. They had their class time extended, and he didnt have to change his lecture time. Thus, have plenty of time to do your assignment in class and have time to ask your questions if need be. Your homework when you go home is now reduced to almost nothing, and now you can spend more time with your family.
