    Reasons why I dislike school

Regarding your first point. Setting a work, page, or character limit is pointless. If you made a point in about 400 words and you have to have the essay be 1,000 wards, the only thing you're accomplishing is having you paper being lengthy at best and pointless at worst. Also, setting word limits does not teach you how to site or reference, unless the paper requires you to do research, then yes, but for most of the time, no it won't. Second, no it won't help them. All it would accomplish is having the person get a bad grade because they don't know about the subject. Third, yes it might seem a bit silly. But, it's still a fair point to make. We have 12 years of education (in the US) and some of it is being taught irrelevant things. And on your last point, it's just something I never understood and found stupid. Does it matter whether we get sweaty. Regardless, we're going to wash our clothes anyways, so what's the point. It's just one more thing to worry about. The amount of money that those shirts costed is much much...

Should The School Dress code be strictly enforced

Now that my opponent has finally made a proper argument that makes a bit of sense at the least, I will now being with my more serious argument. REFUTATIONS "forcing people to dress alike, takes away their individuality. All people need a sense of expression and many people do it through their clothing." Are you kidding me? There is practically no one who expresses their individually solely on clothing. That is a stupid thing to do, since some people don't even have the money to buy clothing. Furthermore, there are thousands of other ways to express you individuality rather then clothing that people use much more. Also, saying it takes away their chance to express themselves is correct, yet invalid. If I said killing people is my way of expressing my individuality, does that give me the right to kill? Of course not! The same goes for this case. Just because it is one way, does not make it the only. Furthermore, not everyone dresses alike. A dress code is a code with boundaries on what to wear. There is a difference between uniforms and dress codes. " If all teens and children were forced to dress alike, they would not be able to develop properly" You are hilarious kid. How is it that if they dress alike they won't developpe properly? You have no proof supporting this. However, being sexually assaulted due to the clothes you wear will definetly prevent you from developping properly. " Getting a uniform is an expensive, additional outfit for them to wear. They do have to have other clothes to wear other than their school uniform so spending money on clothes is inevitable. Buying a pair of jeans for $20 and a shirt for $15 is much cheaper than having to purchase dress slacks, blazers, skirts, socks, and shoes all together ranging $150-$200. " As already mentioned, school uniforms and dress codes are 2 different things. Also, let us assume that this argument was valid even though it is irrelevant. It is actually much cheaper to have a uniform. With a uniform, we only need 1, and it cost about 150-200 $. However, buying clothing all year for a variety of occurance will cost way more than that! Think about it, you have to pay 20$ for a shirt. Now think about this, how many shirts do you have? The amount of money that those shirts costed is much much more than 200$ " But if during the years most crucial for development you are told you can't wear something you find comfortable and you like because it distracts guys not because you but because of something you can't control sure you can control what you wear but you can't choose how big your boobs are or what the weather is going to be one girl can wear a shirt and it be to revealing but another girl can wear that exact same shirt and it no be revealing at all." With the dress code, you still wear comfortable clothing, however it is appropriate. You still wear the clothes you like, just the ones appropriate for the school, and that won't provoque people. I don't even understand your last sentance, so I shall do my best to paraphrase. "You can control what you wear, however you are incapable of choosing how big your boobs are. A girl can wear a T-shirt that won't be revealing, however if another girl with big boobs wears it, it is revealing." This is the best I could come up with. I tell you now, no such clothing would present such an issue, unless the girl was wearing a size shorter than she really is, or if she isn't wearing it properly. So, it is her fault for doing such. --------------------------- My opponent presented no valid reason to which why there shouldn't be strict clothing rules. She confused school uniforms with dress codes, and also dropped most of my arguments including bullying. All her sentances make practically no sense whatsoever. It took me quite some time to paraphrase. I explained however that with strict rules, we better learing, prevent sexual assault, and even lower bullying.

as far as the sticker, why should children (like I said)...

    Should uniforms be at schools

First of all, I can confirm that 90% of uniform items are cheaper than standard clothes that a child might wear at a public school. as far as the sticker, why should children (like I said) be able to distract themselves from learning with commodities as such when education is already a problem in our nation, directly shown in the fact that we are forced to export jobs one because it is cheap labor and two we don't have enough local employees to fill high requirement jobs because school is so often disregarded as a child in today's new generations. Why should you care so much about dress-code if you claim to care so much about education. School is not fashion show, rather a learning environment. when we ease to view it as such, we begin to struggle (as we already have). To be fair, it's not really the dress-code's fault for these "rebellions". it is more the staff, because the allow the students to slip by rather than conforming to the rules. the way to solve this is staying conformed to the dress-code. If you teach the students that infractions are intolerable, then they are less likely to spend time in finding ways to slip by. These attempts are also distractions. All in all, a dress code creates a work-friendly environment and eliminates bullying. The end although we still have one more round Accept your defeat..... :I

And if the students don't pay for it, the school ends up...

Public Schools Should not Fund School Bands.

First of all, band is an extra curricular activity for those with interest in it. It is not a hard science or mathematics or course nor does it have the importance of one. It is very hard to make a living off of playing the clarinet, flute, trumpet, piano, etc and only a few ever become great and do make a good living off playing an instrument. Cutting funding for band would allow the school to spend that money to hire more teachers to teach worthwhile classes such as Physics, Calculus, Biology, Chemistry, Statistics, and so on and give students with promising futures to learn a much more valuable skill that could greatly benefit society a better learning environment with less students in a class and more available positions to take such a class. Band on the other hand requires that students have instruments, music books, uniforms, band teachers, etc. And if the students don't pay for it, the school ends up doing so. All of these can cost up to several hundreds of dollars per student. Playing an instrument is a hobby one does in their spare time more than it is a worthwhile trade or skill to learn while making a living like mathematics, science, language, etc and the school should have no buissness using tax dollars to fund a hobby. If school bands should continue to exist and be funded then it should be on their own accord and should either be funded by parents of the students, charities, performances, etc. The people of the United States should not be funding a hobby that is not a likely skill to need to make a living except for the exceptional few when the purpose of a school to equip and train the youth the necessary skills and know-how to become valuable members of society. While there are still crowded classes for hard science courses and mathematics or schools were such classes aren't even offered, the bands at those schools should be cut and the money should go to a worthwhile course that students have a much greater chance of taking advantage of to get into better schools and eventually earn better jobs. Band classes serve little purpose other than train students to play a noisemaker, a skill that nearly all of them will never ever need throughout their lives. Solid science and math courses should have number 1 priority and since schools across the country are having severe budget cuts one of the first things to go should be band classes in order to make sure more valuable classes are available and well equipped

    School uniform should be discontinued

The opponent shall be saying that school uniform should be discontinued. I think that school uniform is a good thing. People are less likely to be bullied because of what they are wearing, and are more likely to be late for school if they are choosing what to wear. You also have a sense of belonging if you are together- wearing the same thing. Up to you to continue the debate!

In any normal persons book a school with less relation to...

    Dress Code Policies in School

For starters: how it can be beneficial. Well if you look at the percentage of people in school that get into fights at school because this guy is wearing these types of clothes compared to a school with a dress code the school with a dress code has a lower percentage. Also, a dress code can prevent segregation of different gangs. In any normal persons book a school with less relation to gangs is a safer school over all.~~ First off i would like to know where you got the fact and percentage of people who get in a fight at school because what there wearing? and i don't know if you know this but clothes are not the only thing about gangs. clothes are not what make up a gang. just because they are not wearing there colors or whatever they are still part of a gang. so i would like to know where you are going with this cause it looks like know were. moving on. ~~Now about your point on the cost. If money is a issue which in some kids it is the school will buy you clothes. ~~ First money is a issue for a lot of people. in some kids it is the school will buy you clothes? that makes no sense but i think i might know what you mean so a will work with it. you stated some so that's not all they time. moving on. ~~Now you brought up that people never wear it anywhere else and could use that money for food or utility bills. Now, lets clarify this a bit a dress code is completely different from a uniform. A uniform you are told what shirt is mandatory what socks is mandatory for example white or black, high or low, what color tie to wear etc... Now a dress code is a whole lot more relaxed. I wear clothes that I wear to school all the time and vase verse. So therefore the issue of money really isn't a problem and neither is the waste of clothes.~~ you are right about the uniform. now that it is clarified. lets use a soccer uniform for example. you have to wear the same shirt short and socks to ever game. now for dress code policies in school. the dress code could be red white or blue polo's with only tan or blue shorts. that is a policy. So i have totally refuted your point. back to what i was saying about saving money. a lot of people are not going to want to wear that during summer or the weekend because they want to me comfortable. thus not having to buy extra clothes parents could save for bills.

(GY) School uniform should be abolished

School uniform improves students' behavior. Having all students wear the same uniform helps to create a sense of belonging and a good school ethos spirit. By showing that the school expects high standards, expectations are raised and students respond with better behavior. There are several research that prove the improvement of students in delinquency and academic achievement after adopted uniform cord. Firstly, let me show the example that show the change of major delinquency. At the Long Beach unified school, after it introduced the school uniform, school crime decreased 36 %, fights decreased 51%, sex offenses decreased 74%, weapons offenses decreased 50%, and assault and battery offenses decreased 34%. Secondly, Raffner Middle School noted improvements in students' behavior Using US Department of Education software to track discipline data, leaving class without permission is down 47%, throwing objects is down 68%, and fighting has decreased by 38%. Staff attributes these changes in part to the uniform code. Thirdly, I want to give the example about improvement in student's academic achievement. Maymont Elementary school principal identified many benefits of the uniform program, including improved behavior, an increase in attendance rates and higher student achievement. Also, Mt.Royal's assistant principal stated that the uniform policy has enhanced the tone and climate of our building. She also noted that t brings about a sense of seriousness about work.

So no I'm not just talking out of my butt and here's a...

Uniforms in schools/workplaces should all be unisex/gender neutral

Once again it isn't about professionalism it is about a companies right to choose. If you're going to try and force companies to abide by your ideas on unisex uniforms someone has to enforce that. Since it obviously isn't going to be the company itself you have set a precedent that all people will follow because that's going to be law. Since you haven't set forth any kind of line on what unisex might actually entail for companies you're just slapping a word on it. A study by ucla puts the transgender community at. 58% of the community. So no I'm not just talking out of my butt and here's a link. Https://www. Dailydot. Com/irl/transgender-population-in-us/ and I'm just going to assume all of those things you just listed could be covered as transgender. Think about it. There really isn't a single unifying definition of transgender or gender fluid and I can give you some examples. Dictionary. Com says it can be as broad as "noting or relating to a person who does not conform to societal gender norms or roles. " That definition could describe anyone who isn't ideally masculine or feminine. It can also be as narrow as "noting or relating to a person whose gender identity does not correspond to that person"s biological sex assigned at birth. " The quote is taken from the same site. Https://www. Dictionary. Com/browse/transgender? S=t, Then there's webmd who defines transgender as how someone feels. Https://www. Webmd. Com/sex/features/transgender-what-it-means#1. And therefore I'm able to debunk your statement about that. lastly it can be harmful to a companies image because it could be construed as not allowing people to be masculine or feminine. Something people like because around 99% of the population identifies as male or female. As a matter of fact you could say it's built into our language. I mean could you imagine trying to speak gender neutral Spanish? You're argument isn't nuanced and doesn't have precedents, Definitions, Or a point.

Private school is better/safer than public school

I believe that children from public schools are being pushed harder to their limits. Unlike kids from private schools, who rely too much on others when it comes to education. There are also evidences that those who come from public schools score higher in tests, like SATs. Your child will be exposed to more ideas and cultural backgrounds since more than half of the population attend Public Schools. Some researches state that Private schools have better curriculums. But then again, today the government monitors public schools closely so that they can provide an even more better way of teaching children. For those who are also experiencing financial problems, this may be the best way of giving your child a better future, which is by sending them to a public school. PRIVATE SCHOOL students get a very limited glimpse of society because they are surrounded by kids who also have rich parents and similar political views.
