Hey sup I think the same. Students should be able to express themselves and I think adults shouldn't take that right away from the students.

Extend my arguments My opponents arguments have been debunked. In conclusion I successfully countered my opponents arguments and my rebuttals remain unchallenged I have sources posted to back up all of my claims. I had better conduct and was able to respond in every round while my opponent, the instigator, forfeited twice.

Kids shouldn't wear uniforms to school
When I go to school in the morning I don't have to worry about keeping my clothes ironed and when I wake up I just wake up go for a shower. Then I just take something out from my closet and wear what I want.
School Uniforms
i think dress codes are sort of sexist and if you get rid of casual clothes, you eliminate the need to discipline. less kids would be sent home and prevent their education
why should be uniforms needed in schools
Uniforms should not be because use lose your freedom of choice.
why should be uniforms needed in schools
How does that have anything to do with uniforms and your confusing me.
Every school must have a uniform
Thank you for this argument, which I hope that you are enjoying it as I am. I applaud your well thought out argument, but to respond firstly, to your initial point that students should focus on their education rather than their clothes. This is true, but students aren't going to be any more productive in the morning than thinking of what the wear in front of the wardrobe. Like I said again, we can't expect students to easily adapt to adult life where they will need to pick their own attire, as well as make many other decisions, when months before, they had to have many things picked out for them. A survey on whether students would rather uniforms or not by Kids USA (Scholastic) has also resulted in most students choosing no. http://teacher.scholastic.com... I simply can't agree with my opponents point about school uniforms being more "cost-effective" than regular apparel, as whether or not there is a school uniform, students will always have their everyday clothes, and many students would prefer them, in a matter of whether they feel more comfortable or more like themselves. School uniform is just adding more items of clothing to a parent's shopping list and financial burden. Encouraging a student to take on the responsibility of choosing his/her own clothes should be a good thing, to encourage and teach organization, so that clothes are set out for the next day for example, so that students may still be punctual and reach school on time. I return the debate to my opponent.
School uniform should be banned
Hello, this is my first debate. I wish good luck to my opponents. Commenters please advice me in the comments section and thank you! So let's get started. Point 1: School uniform can be a indication of the student's pride and loyalty of the school. By wearing school uniform, students will feel proud of their school. However, this only applies if the school is reputable as if the school is not reputable, the school uniform would indicate that the student is not a good student due to his school. Point 2: School uniforms help teachers and staff to identify students. This is especially useful during school trips. Imagine what would happen if school uniforms were banned, how would the teachers identify their students during mishaps and accidents? Besides, it is also easier for a teacher to do a head count of the students as most of the students would be wearing the same type of clothes. Compared to students wearing different colored clothes with different designs , students wearing the school uniform would be certainly more easily recognized. Point 3: Wearing a school uniform will change a student's mindset and attitude towards their study. Psychologist have proven that wearing the school uniform will cause a student to be more serious compared to wearing home clothes. Thus, wearing school uniform would enable a student to focus more easily during lesson. Point 4: School uniform can improve the image of a school. As the saying goes, ' The clothes makes the man' By wearing a smart standardized uniform, a student will look like a studious scholar, by wearing a shirt with a punk-like design, the student will look like a hooligan, while wearing a shirt with a cartoon design would make the student look childish and immature. The clothes of what we wear reflects who we are, even if some do not notice. For example, if we wear a tank top and yellow pants with pink polka dots to a job interview, you would be perceived as a foolish person with a can't be bothered attitude. Thus, if a group of students wears a class uniform, the school would be seen as organized and would of course make a better impression than a school with students wearing clothes of different designs. Point 5: School uniform can reduce the bullying of many students. Bullying has been a common issue in schools due to many factors. One of the factor is the clothing. Wearing inappropriate or abusive clothes can lead to a disruption in class, and also, in more serious cases, a fight. For example, if a student wore a shirt to school with the words 'Chinese Suck', the Chinese of the school would feel offended and will most probably find a way to have revenge. Some of them might even perhaps commit self harm or try to engage in a fight with the student wearing the repulsive shirt. Likewise, if outsiders see a student wearing an abusive shirt, and identify the student, it would bring a bad image to the school. Therefore, cases of bullying can be reduced if students wear the same uniform. Point 6: Due to poverty, the clothes of a poor pupil might be torn, worn or dirty. This may lead to the discrimination of other students. If all students wore the same uniform, less people would discriminate students due to their clothes as their first impression on others would be based more on the mindset , personality and attitude of the person rather than his clothes. In conclusion, the uniform may have disadvantages, however, the benefits of a uniform outweighs the negative effects of a uniform, therefore, the uniform should not be banned.
Should students be forced to wear a school uniform
I understand what you are saying that it makes the school work better as a whole but what about the 1st amendment? Making students wear uniforms takes away their right to express themselves. Also forcing them to give up their individuality. Students don't want to look like the person sitting next to them. They want to be themselves and not some clone the school system is forcing them to be.
Should STEAM magnet schools wear school uniforms
It is just a wast of school money because people can't show their personalitys
Should School Uniform Be Worn In All Schools SJS
Considering that Pro has failed to answer, or even post his own argument for that matter, I will issue one finial point. Who, in their right mind, actually wants to be told what to wear? Personally, in order for me to do well in school, I have to enjoy going. If I was forced to wear a uniform, I would not enjoy school therefore my test scores would drop. School uniforms are not good for anyone, and until Pro chooses to argue his points, I am done here.
Private Schools Should Have Students Wear Uniforms
Interesting points. Thank you for a well thought out argument. 1. I accept the suggested statement that uniforms make it harder for children to identify each others' socioeconomic status, however I doubt that that necessarily stops discrimination. Clothes are usually an obvious flag of how much wealth the family of the child has. However, once you remove that as an identifying factor, you'll just find more subtle trends being utilized by high income students. Things like watches, jewelry, backpacks, and even school supplies. Even if all the children are dressed the same, those that wish to victimize others will find a way to identify their victim. 2. It's funny that you say clothes are a distraction when I've always felt the inverse is wildly more distracting. But to be serious, I doubt this. When one observes an easily distracted child, they'll notice that if there's no stimulus to distract the child they'll generally end up fidgeting or finding some other way to amuse themselves. Clothes aren't the issue here. It's the child's attention span. And if that's the issue, it seems that we would be doing the children a disservice by sending them out into the world without teaching them how to focus when something as common as a t-shirt can steal their attention. 3. Your presence at the school identifies you as part of the student body. I doubt that promoting school spirit is worth taking away the right of the child to project their personality through their attire. To respond to this, please explain to me the merits of school spirit and how they improve the education of a student. 4. Conformity is not something to strive for. Conformity suppresses creativity, which is extremely important in the adult world. Look at the field of adverising, which is taking in massive amounts of graduates every year. Your main objective is to think up some kind of catchy ad campaign that will sell the product in question. In making everyone think the same, we hamper their ability to perform these kind of jobs. And by making them all feel like they are the same through promoting matching attire, we're shaping their minds as well. There's also the issue of over achievement. By leading children to emulate their peers, you may suppress the capabilities of those that go beyond their fellow students in potential. 5. Someone that has malicious intent is generally going to plan out their ill doings on the campus. Uniforms are not hard to obtain. Even if they didn't match the students, assuming they wanted to cause true harm, the teachers and administration would likely be powerless to do anything. This point is ineffective if the majority of attacks on schools are examined. The only true way to stop this trend is by arming teachers or putting armed personnel at the schools. In addition: Out of curiosity, how do you feel about religious articles? These can definitely contribute to children classifying each other, but it seems that we as a culture don't want to restrict students from fulfilling the obligations of their faith. Would you say such articles are allowed, or prohibited?
School Uniform Should be Compulsory
I believe that making school uniforms non-compulsory has more to do with a futuristic ideology and a student's creativity, Than many other factors. Allow me to explain. Enforcing a strict code about anything, Affects students more than others. Take uniforms - if you forget to wear them, Or mess up your uniform, Which in most cases gets washed daily and re-used, You get punished. You are forced to believe that it is, In some way, Illegal to dirty the uniform. Would it improve the lives of students if they are forced to wear the something every day? Of course, Discipline never is unwelcome, But there are novel ways to implement discipline other than making students wear the daily noose to school. It reflects freedom, Not to have a strict uniform code. It is hard to explain in words, But I'd like anyone reading this to imagine if, At any time, A robot can perceive freedom. Can a machine, Made to serve its "lord" even at the behest of its existence, Perceive true freedom? When you are told over and over again that you cannot explore different choices, When you are strictly punished for expressing your free will against the uniform code, Can you ever understand freedom? We must always feel at home everywhere. There is great truth in this. For instance, We make friends to feel a familial bond when seeing them. We try to become cleaner, So that when every place is clean, It seems just like home. Clothing has a huge importance in this. Apparently, The very fabric you wear affects your work ethics and emotions. Try putting on the same bleak shirt daily, And see how cranky you get. There is also the time factor. With exam schedules shortening and the daily race expanding, Students have no time. Time is barely enough to complete your studies, But then again you have to wash and iron your clothes. See what I mean? I wish to point that students cannot be forced to, And should not be forced to accept a uniform code. Let them be free to consider school home. I believe liberal discipline is the best discipline.
Uniforms or not
People should be able to wear what they want! People should be free. Yes some clothes can be totally disgusting. They are expensive and are not use when not at Yes some clothes can be totally disgusting. They are expensive and are not use when not at school or working.
