Uniforms should be worn in school

My opponent has not refuted most of the points I actually brought up in my last argument. The argument that I made is admittedly not a great one, but as it goes unrefuted, I sustain it. Now, I will respond to Pro's refutations. 1. I never brought up this point. My opponent is misquoting me here. These punishments seem awfully harsh though for something so trivial. 2. I think you are confused about the nature of this debate. The resolution that I need to negate is: "Uniforms should be worn in school." I am arguing the opposite of this statement, but you seem to think the resolution is something like: "Schools should require students to wear identical uniforms," or something to that effect. Now let me answer Pro's question, they increase distractions because the students are NOT wearing the same uniform. I think that they will increase distractions because: clubs imply membership in a club, and regular clothes generally do not imply anything. 3. So right here my opponent is supporting their previous statements about self-confidence. Pro's reasoning is that upper-class students and poorer students wear the same thing. This would be acceptable, except for what I said in my refutation to #2 about the resolution. I also want to bring up something interesting that my opponent said here. "This is the main reason why bulling happens in public schools." This is extremely false. Insecurities are the main reason why kids bully [1], not what Pro has brought up. I have sustained my own arguments, and have refuted my opponents arguments. I am done here. References: 1. http://www.stompoutbullying.org...

if schools decide that students should have uniforms then...

    school uniforms

if schools decide that students should have uniforms then they are the problem. students get bullied over their clothes sure but the teachers stop and report it. All over the United States of America students are being taught to express their individuality by teachers, not to follow the crowd, but now they are double talking meaning that they say one thing and then say the exact opposite the next. That is also called being a hypocrite. Anyone who agrees with the teachers is saying that students should be like little robots in the perfect world, but guess what its not a perfect world so get over it. Students are human beings that deserve to be able to express themselves. They have the same rights as others.

It teaches you the way of life and to follow the rules,...

Should every children wear school uniforms at every school

Should we wear uniforms? Yes. Why wear uniforms? What's the point? It teaches you the way of life and to follow the rules, Even though it may suck and it may be something that you don't want to do, That's life. Let's be real here, Who enjoys uniforms? They are annoying -- it just teaches you to follow rules. When you start a job and you're working, You can't wear anything you want. You must wear your work clothes that are assigned from your boss. In the long run, It's more of a good thing than a burden. Another thing is students can be easily identified which will increase their safety. Bullying. Bullying occurs whether students are wearing uniforms or not, But uniforms can reduce bullying. By students wearing the same generalizing clothes, It will help. Of course it won't help the bullying entirely but most likely, They will not make fun of your clothes since they are wearing the same thing. Style. You can make uniforms look good, I. E many accessories, Watches, Good looking shoes and things of that nature. Every person has their own unique sense of style. Uniforms may limit it, But it's good to make the most out of it so you don't feel unfree. Solution. The good thing is once you reach high school + college, You won't have to wear uniforms. You can wear whatever you want and express yourself much better and be more comfortable.

    Should their be school uniforms

The problem with your argument is the poor kids would still be bullied with uniforms because they would have to buy cheaper versions and regardless, it makes bullying worse because instead of being bullied based on clothing. Now it's on weight, hair, race, religion etc. Uniforms may stop bullying on clothes, but the social-economic divide is still there, just not as noticeable.

I believe school uniforms should be banned from schools...

This Party Would Ban School Uniforms

I believe school uniforms should be banned from schools because half of our lives are spent at school and every person deserves to express themselves as they are. I find it unfair that teachers are telling students to express themselves more then again, some express them selves using paper, pencil, markers, their voices ect. but some use the art of fashion. It is basically hard for them to express their personality. Use a person with a angry personality for example; I am sure you would not want them expressing themselves verbally do you? and not all are good with drawing, painting and other 2-Dimensional work so many use the art of fashion to express themselves and that my opponent is my major point.

High school students should wear uniforms

I think high school students should not wear uniforms, because it restricts their rights. They can make a decision by themselves, also they do not like when somebody requires it.

    Students should wear school uniforms.

    I did some research on Patch.com and 50% of kids get bullied because of their clothes. Students want to wear what they want but it's only for a few hours and it's not going to kill you. Various People around the world kill themselves because of bullying. I know parents rather have their kids not where what they want for less causes of bullying. Students crying every day and night and we will put a stop to it if we have school uniforms. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Citations: http://patch.com...

    Uniforms

For the past decade, schools, parents and students have clashed over the issue of regulating student attire. In 2007, cases involving an anti-Bush T-shirt in Vermont, an anti-gay T-shirt in San Diego, and Tigger socks in Napa, California, made their way through the courts, causing many to wonder whether this debate will ever be resolved. Meanwhile, researchers are divided over how much of an impact " if any " dress policies have upon student learning. A 2004 book makes the case that uniforms do not improve school safety or academic discipline. A 2005 study, on the other hand, indicates that in some Ohio high schools uniforms may have improved graduation and attendance rates, although no improvements were observed in academic performance. You have not been wearing uniforms 24/7. Uniforms are good as they show formality. And nothing is a 50/50 subject one side will always win.
